Embattled team Campos Meta has again claimed it is on the brink of securing its future by announcing a new investor.

Campos is believed to be in arrears on its payments to chassis manufacturer Dallara and is in need of extra funding to ensure it makes the first race in Bahrain. It was expected to announce an investor last week, but the team has remained quiet amid rumours that team boss Adrian Campos may sell his share to partner Jose Ramon Carabante. Either way, noises from the team suggest a solution will be announced imminently.

"Within the next 24 hours we will name our new investor," a Campos insider told Auto Motor und Sport.

A1 GP boss Tony Texeira was linked to the team as a possible saviour, but with the collapse of his racing series, his involvement is looking less likely. Volkswagen has also been rumoured as a potential investor but its motorsport boss Kris Nissen flatly denied any talks were taking place.

"I know only about this from the internet and because I called one of our drivers Carlos Sainz on the weekend to hear about the story," he said.

Meanwhile fellow F1 newcomer US F1 appears to be facing problems of its own, and its car is reportedly far from ready. Potential stand in Stefan GP is continuing to ready itself for start of the season and will test its car next week despite not having an entry for the 2010 season.
