Lotus needs to get Grosjean 'under control' - Horner

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner says Lotus should get Romain Grosjean "a bit more under control" after another first-lap incident.

Grosjean ran in to the side of Mark Webber in turn two at Suzuka, tipping the Red Bull in to a spin. It was the latest in a number of mistakes at the start of races for Grosjean, and led to Webber branding him a "first-lap nutcase", and Horner says Lotus needs to work to ensure Grosjean avoids incidents in the future after an "unacceptable" number of clashes.

"Hopefully he'll have a good look in the mirror after this incident or his team need to get him a bit more under control," Horner said. "He's capable of doing it; he's obviously a quick driver, but so many incidents is unacceptable at this level.

"I think it's the seventh incident he's had this year and I think he needs to really talk to himself or his team need to talk to him because not only is it dangerous for others but he's cost himself and his team a colossal amount of points, together with the innocent victims that he's collected en-route. At this level I think it's completely unacceptable to be having so many incidents."

Following Webber's comments, Horner said he was concerned that Grosjean didn't appear to have learned after receiving a one-race ban.

"I think Mark has every right to express his feelings and I think that it was just a complete misjudgement. The most important thing when you make a mistake is to learn from it and I think the most disappointing thing is that it's a repeat incident and proved extremely costly for Mark as it did Hamilton and Alonso in Spa and numerous other victims earlier in the year. So I think the most worrying thing is he doesn't appear to be learning from his mistakes."
