Daniel Ricciardo has been hit with a gearbox penalty and will drop five-places on the grid for the Korean Grand Prix.

Ricciardo stopped on track during Q2, pulling off between turns 15 and 16 having lost drive in second gear. While it was a driveshaft problem that caused the stoppage, Toro Rosso was forced to open up the gearbox to investigate the issue, and as a result Ricciardo must drop five places on the grid at Yeongam.

The penalty drops Ricciardo from 16th to 21st place on the grid and means Jean-Eric Vergne, Bruno Senna, Vitaly Petrov, Heikki Kovalainen and Timo Glock all move up a place.

Charles Pic - who had qualified in 21st place originally - starts from the back of the grid having taken a ten place grid penalty for using his ninth engine of the season.
