Webber planning for dry Sunday

Mark Webber said that Red Bull had focused on preparing for a dry Brazilian Grand Prix due to the conditions in Friday practice.

The weather forecast for Sunday is for persistent rain, with thunderstorms expected to move in some time on Saturday afternoon. However, Friday's two practice sessions both took place in hot and dry conditions and as a result Webber said that Red Bull had to approach the day as if the rest of the weekend would be similar.

"We know that there's going to be some moisture around on Sunday but also a big drop in track temperature, so that will play a huge role in the balance of the car, how the tyres perform," Webber said. "We don't have all the answers because it's the first time here for a while - in one season - so we got what we could out of today in these conditions and just tried to focus on if Sunday is going to be normal because it could well be but unlikely. So in the end we got today executed pretty well."

Webber admitted that it wasn't the easiest Friday as he finished both sessions in third place, saying that the grip level was low due to the track temperatures.

"The track was slippery today, it's pretty hot, so I think we were all a little bit surprised by how much of a lack of grip we had so we all pressed on with that and got on with it. But the track temperature got over 50C, which is high, extremely hot."
