Raffaele Marciello felt he had to make the most of his debut with Ferrari in Abu Dhabi for the injured Jules Bianchi, who remains in a critical condition following his accident at the Japanese Grand Prix earlier this year.

Marciello is junior to Bianchi in the Ferrari Driver Academy and would not have been testing in Abu Dhabi this week had Bianchi not had his accident. He said he felt an added responsibility to try to do as good a job as possible during his day in the car.

"I'm here because Jules is not here, actually, but he always did his best and always tried hard," Marciello said. "I wanted to push really hard for him and I think if someone would push really hard but is not here and not able to, then you have to do the same."

Marciello said driving for Ferrari had been a dream come true.

"It was really emotional in the morning; for an Italian guy to drive a Ferrari is like a dream so I was really happy.

"It was quite a funny day for me. I enjoyed a lot driving a Formula One car. I did a lot of kilometres also so I'm really happy about that because when you are out there you want to do a lot. I did everything like quite long runs so I'm really happy I did everything I could.

"I'm quite tall so luckily it was quite comfortable. I did a lot of kilometres, almost 100 laps without any problems and the car was really good to drive. We didn't have any problems in the car and we did all the program we wanted to."
