Sergio Aguero confirmed on his Twitter account on Wednesday that he has arrived in England to finalise the details of his move to Manchester City.

Aguero has been in Buenos Aires this week and was said to have refused to return to training with Atletico as Manchester City attempted to push through a deal. An agreement is now said to have been reached - variously reported at between £35 million and £39 million - and Aguero landed in Manchester on Wednesday morning to talk to the club.

Aguero said on Twitter: "Just landed in Manchester to finalise the details of the move to City. Everything is fine! In a while I'll tell you more."

Atletico Madrid boss Gregorio Manzano had earlier confirmed the deal was close to completion. He told Cope on Tuesday night: "It does look like this long-running issue will be resolved in the coming hours. It is at an end.

"I have asked the players to focus on Thursday's game [against Stromsgodset]. Unfortunately Kun will not be there. The truth is that I hoped to reflect on his decision to leave favourably. I had hoped that he could have chosen a better, more professional way to leave and shown more love to the club."
