Corinthians will return to try and sign Manchester City's wantaway striker Carlos Tevez in January once the Brazilian transfer window opens again.

Tevez's €50 million move to Corinthians collapsed last week as negotiations stuttered over the player's valuation and the ability of the Brazilian club to pay the full fee in instalments.

Now, marketing director Luis Paulo Rosenberg is watching Tevez's links with a move to Inter Milan carefully and insists that if the Argentine is still a City player at the start of next year, then his club will come back with another offer.

"You can expect us to go after him again," Rosenberg told Bloomberg. "I think [our offer] was €5 million [too low]. But we would still have to deal with Tevez; we did not [get] to because we still needed to reach a settlement with the City.''

Former Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero has already arrived at Eastlands as Tevez's replacement, suggesting that Tevez may soon get his wish to move closer to his family.
