Arsenal target Martin signs Sochaux extension
Highly rated Sochaux midfielder Marvin Martin has signed an extension to his current contract that keeps him at the club until 2015.
Martin, 23, has signed for one additional year at the Stade Auguste Bonal after he starred in Ligue 1 last season and gained international recognition with France.
The midfielder was linked to Arsenal this summer, but a statement on the club's official website read: "Marvin Martin has signed a one-year contract extension with Sochaux on Monday afternoon. He is now under contract until 2015.
''Sochaux would like to use this opportunity to thank Marvin Martin for his professionalism and positive attitude. His debut in France's national team has made him a successful ambassador of this club and their training centre."
Olympique Lyonnais have also shown an interest in Martin, but the midfielder now looks set to continue his development in Sochaux for the time being.
