Froch title fight postponed due to Ward injury

WBC super-middleweight champion Carl Froch's Super Six world title showdown against Andre Ward has been postponed due to an injury sustained by the American fighter.
The Nottingham-born boxer was due to face WBA champ Ward in Atlantic City on October 29, in a fight to decide the winner of the six-fighter tournament that got underway two years ago.
But Ward suffered a deep cut to his hand in sparring on Thursday and, after heading to Los Angeles to get assessment from a specialist, the fight has now been postponed.
"Bad News: I sustained a cut in sparring a few hours ago," Ward posted on his Twitter account. "Flew to LA to see the Doc. I got 7 stitches. I will let you know the new date soon."
Froch beat Glen Johnson in June to book his place in the showpiece final, while the undefeated Ward (24-0) was impressive in his beating of Arthur Abraham in May.
