Tevez agent claims interpreter was at fault

The Carlos Tevez saga has taken a fresh twist, with his agent pointing the finger at the interpreter for the problems that followed Manchester City's defeat to Bayern Munich.

The Argentina international has been suspended by City, after he failed to come off the bench at the Allianz Arena.

City boss Roberto Mancini claimed Tevez was "finished" at the club while he was in charge after saying the forward refused to go on as a substitute. Tevez appeared to support this assertion in a post-match interview, claiming he did not feel in the right frame of mind to play.

Tevez has been interviewed by the club who are conducting a thorough investigation and it has been suggested the player has stated that his version of events differs from that of Mancini.

The saga continues to rumble on and the player's agent Kia Joorabchian has now claimed that the fault lies with the translation of Tevez's comments.

"Carlos does speak English, but his English is not good enough for a full interview," Joorabchian said. "One of the biggest problems is that when you get a situation right after the game and questions are asked and things are put out of context. If you do not get a professional interpreter then you have a problem.

"I speak Spanish and English. I listened to the question in English and the interpretation in Spanish and the interpretation was incorrect. There was a different interpretation. Both questions were interpreted incorrectly and both answers of Carlos were then misinterpreted."
