Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp could return to the dugout against Aston Villa on Monday night - three weeks ahead of schedule after his heart operation.

Redknapp, 64, has been given a clean bill of health and, according to the Daily Mail, is ready to resume his managerial duties at White Hart Lane.

If Redknapp, who has 18 months left on his contract, does return for the match against Villa it means he will have missed just one Premier League match - Spurs' 3-1 win at Fulham - since suffering chest pains and difficulty breathing just over a fortnight ago.

"Harry is in great form and good shape. He loves being Tottenham manager and is enjoying the football they are playing. He can't wait to get back to work," a friend of Redknapp told the newspaper.

"Some people seem to be writing him off, but that's foolish. He believes Spurs have a chance of achieving great things. He is very pleased with the job carried out by his coaching staff but can't watch another game on the telly!"
