Roberto Mancini talks Carlos Tevez

Roberto Mancini appeared to draw a line under the Carlos Tevez saga on Friday, admitting he does not think there is a way back for the Manchester City forward.

Tevez had been supposed to attend a meeting with the club on Monday in order to settle the ongoing fallout from his alleged refusal to warm up during the Champions League game with Bayern Munich.

However, Tevez chose to remain in Argentina and not attend the meeting, leaving it up to his advisors to continue discussions with the club.

Mancini has displayed contrasting emotions over the entire Tevez affair, initially stating the player would never play for the club again, before later hinting that an apology could breathe life into his faltering City career.

Asked this time, in front of a packed media room, whether there still remains a way back in for Tevez, Mancini replied on Sky Sports News: "No, I don't think [so]."

Pressed further on what the future holds for Tevez, Mancini replied: "I don't know. He's in Argentina. We can't continue to talk about Carlos. We have an important game in the Premier League."

Inter Milan have been linked with a January move for the Argentina forward, with Javier Zanetti confessing big-name signings will arrive at the Serie A club.
