Juventus rule out Tevez bid

Juventus have ruled themselves out of the running to sign rebel Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Tevez, who is currently in Argentina, is expected to leave City during the January transfer window following his well-publicised fall-out with the club.

The striker's agent, Kia Joorabchian, held talks with AC Milan last Thursday and has claimed that other Italian club's are interested in signing Tevez, with the Bianconeri thought to be amongst them.

However, Juventus insist they will not be making a move for the 27-year-old Argentina international.

"Tevez is a player that doesn't interest us," Juve sporting director Giuseppe Marotta said. "Absolutely not, we're not interested. If we were to make an attacking signing we'll stay calm and evaluate what to do."

Tevez has fallen out of favour at City and fled to Argentina without the club's permission after being charged with misconduct and fined two-weeks' wages following his refusal to warm-up against Bayern Munich in September.

In the summer, a deal of around £38 million, including add-ons, was agreed between City and Tevez's former club Corinthians, only to collapse due to the Brazilian outfit's inability to come up with a payment schedule that suited the Blues hierarchy.
