Fabregas and Nasri are forgotten - Benayoun

Arsenal newcomer Yossi Benayoun believes the club's fans have forgotten about the summer transfer dramas involving Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
Benayoun, currently on loan from Chelsea, joined fellow new recruits Mikel Arteta, Per Mertesacker, Park Chu-Young and Andre Santos at the Emirates as the transfer window closed to fill the void left by Fabregas and Nasri. The former Liverpool midfielder says that after the team's recent good form, Gunners supporters can be proud of the team assembled by Arsene Wenger.
"Fabregas and Nasri are both good players, and maybe the fans expected other names, or bigger names," he said. "But all the players bought on the last day have proved themselves and we are playing much better and winning games.
"The supporters now understand that we have a good team with a lot of quality, and I think they have forgotten about the other players already. We are only two points from Chelsea now, Tottenham and Manchester United are not that far ahead.
"We beat Chelsea away. If you do that, you can beat any team. We showed the quality and we just need to keep working in every game and prove ourselves."
The 31-year-old also hinted he was hopeful a deal could be struck to keep him at Arsenal permanently, saying: "I can only concentrate on the loan and we will see at the end of the season. Arsenal have the option to take me for the rest of my contract with Chelsea, another two years, but it's too early to speak about this.
