Guardiola laughs off Chelsea link

April 17, 2012

Pep Guardiola insists claims he is weighing up a summer move for Chelsea are "fantasy".

Guardiola has yet to sign an extension to his current one-year deal at Barcelona, and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is understood to be eager to take him to Stamford Bridge.

Reports have claimed the Blues are offering him £10 million a year to make the switch to Stamford Bridge, but Guardiola said Chelsea already have a "very, very good manager" in caretaker boss Roberto Di Matteo.

Speaking ahead of his side's Champions League semi-final first leg in West London, Guardiola said: "It is fantasy. It's hypothetical. I am coach of Barcelona now and they have a good manager who is getting unbelievable results.

"It's not useful for Chelsea or for Barcelona to talk about that. There is no time to talk about that."

Guardiola, asked whether he would remain at the Camp Nou next season, refused to discuss his future.

"I just want to focus on the game," he said. "This is a dream come true, to be here ahead of this great game. I just want to make sure my players are focused on the game and can enjoy playing matches like that."
