Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm admits Chelsea's aging squad could work in their favour in this weekend's Champions League final.

The Blues are looking to atone for the heartbreak of a penalty shootout defeat to Manchester United in 2008, while Bayern missed out in the final to Inter Milan two years ago.

Lahm, 28, believes it could be many of the Chelsea squad's last shot at European football's most prestigious title. While captain John Terry is suspended, it may be the last time the likes of Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and Florent Malouda play in a major domestic final, and Lahm admits that makes Chelsea more dangerous.

"Chelsea have also been in the final before and some of their players have already played in it, and for many from Chelsea's point of view, it could be their last chance to win this," Lahm said. "We are all in our best footballing prime and can play together for a few more years."

Saturday's final in the Allianz Arena could be Drogba's last performance in a Chelsea shirt, and the Ivorian is desperate to make amends for his red card four years ago. Although Lahm knows Drogba will be dangerous, he is confident the Bayern back line are equipped to deal with the powerful striker.

"We all know that Drogba is an absolutely sensational player," he said. "We know of his physical strength and that it is going to be a physical game, but we are a strong team and I cannot see there being any problems."

Franck Ribery missed the 2010 final in Madrid through suspension, and Lahm believes the Frenchman has a point to prove and could be the man to end Bayern's 11-year wait for Champions League glory.

"He is an excellent footballer and he is a player who can decide games, we all know that," Lahm said. "He missed out two years ago so will be particularly motivated. He has already proven many times how important he is to us.

"We all have the hunger to win this cup and it will be a difficult task and Franck will make his contribution for us to win."
