Adam agent hits back at 'outrageous' Bale

Charlie Adam's agent has hit back at Gareth Bale who called the Liverpool midfielder a "coward" over the controversial challenge on the Tottenham man.

Bale was floored by Adam during the friendly between the two sides at the weekend and left the ground on crutches. The injury fears have eased, with Bale training with his team-mates on Monday, but earlier he had launched a withering attack on a man who put in a similarly controversial tackle in 2011 that sidelined Bale for three months.

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas feels an apology from Adam would draw a line under the affair, but it would appear as if his agent feels there is nothing to say sorry for.

Responding to Bale's "coward" claim, Adam's agent Kenny Moyes told the Daily Star: "It doesn't warrant a reply because everyone knows Charlie is not that type of player.

"Everyone in football knows he has no malice or anything like that in him.

"For someone to have a go like that is outrageous. It was schoolboyish for them to come out and say that."
