Marseille deny Azpilicueta agreement reached

Marseille have denied that an agreement has been reached for the transfer of defender Cesar Azpilicueta to Chelsea.
While the club's president Vincent Labrune and its sporting director Jose Anigo have been in London this week, reports of an €8million fee (£6.3m) having been agreed upon with Chelsea are well wide of the mark according to Labrune.
"I do not know who started this story, but they are totally wrong," Labrune told La Marseillaise in response to reports which had surfaced back in France. "It surely comes from agents that have an interest in the deal.
"Maybe they imagine that by running around making a noise about €8million it will make a difference, but it will not.
"For the moment nothing is happening."
Twenty-two-year-old defender Azpilicueta has been tracked by Chelsea throughout the summer, and Marseille recently confirmed they would be prepared to sell the Spaniard if the Blues made an acceptable offer.
The player himself has said he is keen to move to Stamford Bridge, but that he remains fully committed to the Ligue 1 side until any deal is done.
