The agent of Lazio midfielder Hernanes appears to have invited interest from Manchester City by speaking of the player's admiration for the club and the Premier League.

Hernanes, 27, has been linked with a move to City with prolific reserves striker John Guidetti, who impressed on loan at Feyenoord last season, moving in the opposite direction.

It is believed City would be willing to offer in the region of £15 million plus their Swedish striker to make the deal worth £25 million.

Roberto Mancini is eager to freshen up his attacking options over the summer with Brazil international Hernanes, who has two years left on his contract, said to be high on his wanted list. Underperforming stars such as Samir Nasri could make way for his arrival.

Agent Joseph Lee told LaLazioSiamoNoi.it: "These are rumours and for now I do not wish to comment on them. City are a top club at world level and Hernanes loves the Premier League. But I have too much respect for Lazio to say any more.

"We discussed many things with [Lazio] president Claudio Lotito in September, including his contract, but the situation has remained unchanged since then. There are no other meetings planned.

"What would happen if an offer came in from Manchester City? I repeat, for now we are talking about rumours, but if it did arrive then Lotito would be forced to call us..."
