Edinson Cavani has dangled a carrot in front of Chelsea and Manchester City by admitting it would be a pleasure to play for the likes of Jose Mourinho and Manuel Pellegrini.

Cavani is being linked with a summer move away from Napoli, with Chelsea - managed for the second time by Mourinho - reported to be the favourites for his signature. City are also believed to be in the frame and they are expected to appoint Pellegrini as their new manager.

The signature of Cavani will not come cheap, as the Uruguay international has a £53 million release clause in his contract.

Naploi have confirmed talks have taken place with Chelsea and it seems clear that the Premier League is an appealing option for the striker.

"I don't know if they have made an offer, but I just know that to be coached by people like Manuel Pellegrini and Jose Mourinho would always be a pleasure," Cavani said on Sky Sports News.

"When the time is right it would be great to play for one of those teams because as a child I always imagined doing it."

Cavani is currently on international duty at the Confederations Cup and he is relaxed about the transfer talk.

"At the moment I am only thinking about Uruguay," he said. "Throughout my career I have had to deal with rumours about signing for another team. I just have to keep my feet on the ground."
