Moyes urges United to work harder

David Moyes believes Manchester United's strike partnership of Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie is the best in the world.

While Liverpool pair Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have been earning all the plaudits, with 14 goals between them already this season, Moyes insists he wouldn't swap his strikers for anyone.

"Wayne and Robin, on their day, will be a match for any players in the world, never mind just in this country," he told the Daily Mail. "When those two are firing, they are the best.

"They're incredibly talented, both natural goalscorers and both can play in several positions."

United travel to Fulham on Saturday looking to continue their good form after wins over Stoke in the Premier League and Norwich in the League Cup, and Moyes hopes Van Persie will be fit after the Dutchman complained of problems with his toes and groin.

"I do see signs that the players are beginning to find a little bit of form," Moyes added.

"I've seen it even in the game last week. It was proof that it's there, that they have got that capability and we might have to do it a few more times before the end of the season.

"We're not at the level of consistency we'd like to be at but we're striving to find that and there are maybe signs that it's coming back.

"We've played well in a couple of games but had to chase things for different reasons."

Moyes also hinted that Rooney could one day become his captain at United.
