Pogba to reject United over Fergie treatment

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba will snub a return to Manchester United because of bitterness over the way he was treated by Sir Alex Ferguson, according to the Independent.

David Moyes was in Italy to scout Pogba and teammate Arturo Vidal on Sunday with an eye on bolstering his lacklustre midfield. However Pogba is believed to have ruled out any notion of joining United.

Pogba's contract was allowed to run down two years ago before he left on a free transfer for Juventus, and the midfielder is understood to be aggrieved over Ferguson's reluctance to play him in the first-team.

Ferguson's continued presence at United also throws up problems for Moyes in his pursuit of Pogba, who did not start a first team match during his time in England. Pogba rejected United's contract offer, with Ferguson considering the midfielder's wage demands unreasonable for a teenager.

Meanwhile, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon admits he still cannot understand how United let Pogba leave.

Juventus secured his services for free 18 months ago and Buffon believes United must have been blind to let him leave without a fight.

"He's one of those players who leaves you with your mouth wide open," Buffon said to Italy's Italia Uno channel. "We all asked ourselves, after seeing him train with us for the third or the fourth time, when he was still unknown, whether the people in Manchester couldn't see very well."

The midfielder was only 19 when he arrived in Turin. He led France's under-20 selection to victory in the FIFA under-20 World Cup last summer, and has not looked back since, ousting Claudio Marchisio from the Juve midfield and earning his first senior calls for his national side.
