Mohamed Al Fayed is confident that Roy Hodgson will decide to remain at Fulham if Liverpool do attempt to recruit him as Rafa Benitez's successor at Anfield.

Hodgson is viewed as one of the leading candidates to replace Benitez having enjoyed a tremendous season by steering Fulham to the Europa League final, where they were defeated by Atletico Madrid.

Since being appointed in January 2007, Hodgson has enjoyed a successful time at Craven Cottage and enjoys the unwavering support of his chairman.

Al Fayed hopes Hodgson will reciprocate that faith by turning down Liverpool, should they make a formal offer.

"I don't think he'll leave me," Al Fayed told the Sunday Mirror. "I'm sure he'll have lots of approaches from other clubs, but I give him anything he wants to reach results and we have a very good relationship."
