United accidentally discount shirts after online blunder
Manchester United will honour all merchandise bought after a blunder on the club's website saw their new home shirt accidentally discounted by more than half.
United's new home shirt was listed at £22 on the club's official store, which is operated by Kitbag.com, with the "normal price" at £55.
Is it just me or is there an absolutely ludicrous sale going on the United website? £22 for the home shirt? pic.twitter.com/w8M9uPdvNr— Busby MUFC (@BusbyMUFC) July 24, 2014
The shirts were on sale for less than half the price during the early hours of Friday morning, but have now returned to their original cost.
"United Direct, the Club's Official Online Megastore, which is run by our e-commerce partner Kitbag, sent out communications which contained details of an erroneous discount code to our fans around the globe - this offer has now ended," a United statement said.
"United Direct will honour all consumer orders placed using this discount code, an approach which is fully endorsed by the club."
