West Ham owner David Sullivan has told ESPNsoccernet that he is fighting to get Eidur Gudjohnsen back to Upton Park from out of the clutches of Spurs.

Sullivan fears that Harry Redknapp and his chairman Daniel Levy have pinched the former Chelsea star from under their noses after it was revealed that that the Hammers had made a €1.2 million offer to take the striker on loan for the rest of the season

Sullivan said: "We thought we had him, but I am worried that he has 'ducked' on us. I am chasing it up as we speak."

Manager Gianfranco Zola played alongside Gudjohnsen at Stamford Bridge and was sure he was the player to rescue the club's ailing season. The player had a medical with West Ham and the deal seemed a certainty, but the last ditch move from Spurs appears to have raised questions over where his future lies.
