Roman Pavlyuchenko is yet to decide whether he will sign a new Tottenham contract, warning manager Harry Redknapp he is not content to play a bit-part role at White Hart Lane.

The striker has frequently been linked with a return to Russia after initially failing to settle in the Premier League, and nearly left for Birmingham in January but, after eight goals this season, he is starting to feel at home in north London.

However, having made eight of his 13 league appearances from the bench this season, Pavlyuchenko is keen to establish where he features in Redknapp's plans.

"I definitely want to stay here," Pavlyuchenko said in the Daily Mail. "But, nevertheless, before I actually sign a new contract I need to consider the situation. Sitting on the bench, even at a club as strong as Tottenham have become, is not good."

Meanwhile, defender Michael Dawson is on the verge of a return to first-team action after completing 90 minutes for the Tottenham reserves. Dawson, who has been out of action since injuring his knee and ankle in action for England in September, scored Spurs' fourth goal in a 4-3 friendly win over MK Dons.
