Tevez withdraws transfer request

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has withdrawn his transfer request and has expressed his commitment to the club.
Tevez handed in his transfer request on December 11, claiming his relationship with certain individuals at Eastlands were broken beyond repair.
However, a statement on the club's official website on Monday confirmed that Tevez held clear-the-air talks with the club ahead of City's Premier League clash against Everton, and revealed the striker would no longer be looking to leave Manchester after expressing his "absolute commitment" to the club.
"Carlos is a world-class player whose contribution since he joined the club has been invaluable," City manager Roberto Mancini said.
"I am pleased that we are now able to focus on pure football matters and to be able to look forward to Carlos continuing to play a significant role in the club's progress."
