Spurs edge closer to Beckham loan deal

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp hopes to tie up a two-month loan for David Beckham by Sunday, following a week of talks with his club LA Galaxy.
Former England captain Beckham, 35, has been the subject of interest from numerous sides but is now close to a return to the club where he honed his skills as a youngster at Spurs' School of Excellence.
Tottenham boss Redknapp says there is a "good chance" a deal will happen for Beckham and hopes the former Manchester United midfielder will come to watch the club's FA Cup third-round match against Charlton on Sunday.
"I think he could be here on Sunday possibly if what I'm being told on the grapevine is right," Redknapp said. "The clubs are talking and there is a good chance it will happen. Hopefully he will come to the game, I'm sure. I'm not 100% sure but he could be here on Sunday."
If Beckham's arrival is secured this weekend, he could well make his debut against Manchester United in the Premier League on January 16.
Meanwhile, Spurs have completed the transfer of Bongani Khumalo from South African side Supersport United on a four-and-a-half year deal.
