Dalglish hints at no January signings

Liverpool caretaker boss Kenny Dalglish has hinted that the club will not be making any transfers during the January window.

Dalglish has endured a difficult time since taking over from Roy Hodgson, suffering defeats against Manchester United and Blackpool in his first two matches.

Reports have suggested that Dalglish is desperate to add to the squad in order to arrest the slump, but the Scot has distanced himself from this talk.

"I'm delighted with the players that we have here," he said. "There's no movement in any way, shape or form for any players. I don't know who's written what."

The 59-year-old insisted that the board's attitude to transfers would shed no light on his future at the club. Dalglish has made it clear that he would like to remain in the job beyond the end of the season, when his spell as caretaker is scheduled to end.

"There's no way I'm going to pre-judge anything, because if there's no players coming in then you'll [the media] say I'm getting my P45," he said. "As soon as we have anything important to tell anybody, we won't be trying to withhold any news that we think is helpful to anybody."
