Kranjcar 'shocked' by Spurs' £10 million valuation
July 6, 2011Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Niko Kranjcar has hit out at the club for pricing him out of a move away from White Hart Lane.
Krancjar, 26, who moved to North London from Portsmouth for £2.5 million two years ago, looked certain to be one of the players moved on as Harry Redknapp aimed to generate funds for new signings. But with the player claiming Spurs want a fee in excess of £10 million he could be left in limbo.
He has become a peripheral figure at Spurs, starting only two Premier League games in 2010-11 with 11 further appearances from the substitutes' bench.
He told SportskeNovosti: "I'm shocked about the transfer fee set for me. It's a price that cools down everybody who is interested.
"It doesn't matter if the price is in pounds or euros, a fee between 10 million and 15 million is just too much for everybody.
"If Tottenham would be happy with €6.7 million, we could all be happy. But if they keep asking for so much money no one will buy me.
"I know that Dynamo Kiev were interested in buying me, but when they were told about my asking price talks just stopped."
