Luka Modric will meet Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy on Thursday for talks over his future, manager Harry Redknapp has revealed.

Modric has gone on record stating his desire to move to Chelsea, but Spurs rejected a £22 million bid from the Blues last month and Levy has insisted that the 25-year-old is not for sale at any price.

Reports have suggested Modric would seek a move when he returned from holiday, but while Redknapp insists that the meeting does not mean that Modric's time at White Hart Lane is coming to an end, he admitted that talks were planned.

''I believe Daniel is meeting Luka tomorrow,'' Redknapp told the London Evening Standard. ''It's difficult when crazy sums of money are being bandied about but we need to keep Luka and all our best players if we are to improve.

''If we want to continue to challenge the top clubs in the Premier League then we simply have to get stronger - not weaker. Luka is a fantastic player and we need to keep him at the club. We certainly don't want to sell him.''

Modric scored just four goals last season, but provided many assists and put in a series of tireless performances in the centre of the park that are said to have also alerted Manchester United to his potential.

The Croatian, who signed for £16.6 million from Dinamo Zagreb in 2008, has five years left to run on his contract at Tottenham.
