'Chelsea move is possible' - Modric

Tottenham Hotspur star Luka Modric has fuelled speculation that he is set to join Chelsea this summer by commenting that the move "is possible".

The Croatia international, who was the subject of an unsuccessful £22 million bid from Chelsea last month, has said he wants to leave - but Daniel Levy, Tottenham's chairman, is adamant that Modric will not be sold at any price.

Now, ahead of crunch talks with Levy, which boss Harry Redknapp claims will take place on Thursday, Modric is refusing to accept that he will be denied a move.

"We will see what happens after [my meeting with Levy]," he told Sky Sports News. "That's all I can say for now, I can't comment any more. Is a transfer to Chelsea possible? Anything is possible of course."

Manchester United are also said to monitoring Modric's situation as they search for a creative midfielder to fill the void left by Paul Scholes' retirement at the end of last season. While the Red Devils' primary target is reportedly Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder, Sir Alex Ferguson is a known admirer of Modric.

Modric, who signed for £16.6 million from Dinamo Zagreb in 2008, has five years left to run on his contract at Tottenham. He penned a new deal at the club just two months ago.
