Paul di Resta is confident Force India will bounce back from its disappointing German Grand Prix and take the fight for fifth place in the constructors' to McLaren for the rest of the season.

Force India failed to score points at the Nurburgring as both drivers looked off the pace all weekend and finished 11th and 13th after qualifying outside the top ten. A new rear tyre construction was used in Germany as a one-off ahead of new tyre constructions for front and rear at this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, but di Resta believes the slump had more to do with the track characteristics than the tyres.

"Germany was a bit of a disappointment because every race we've finished [prior to that] we've scored points," he said. "We'll bounce back; we are a team that can react quite quickly. I think our car, specifically, just didn't suit Germany and I think when we are back on a more normal track we will see the signs of our car that have been strong. I have every faith that we can achieve that."

Force India is currently fifth in the constructors' and ten points ahead of McLaren - a team with much larger resources. Di Resta is confident his team has what it takes to hold onto fifth but said it would have to do so without any major upgrades to the car.

"Where we come back after the break will be key," he added. "McLaren, we've had the better side of them up until the last grand prix. I think the fight will go quite a long way down the line before it's decided. I don't see any major upgrades coming for us but we're trying to stay in front of them and that's the goal this year."
