Paul di Resta says he is willing to wait to hear about his Force India future and just concentrate on delivering good performances for the team.

Di Resta has impressed in his debut season, but with both drivers' contracts ending at the end of the season Force India has said it will announce its 2012 driver line-up in December. Di Resta told reporters in Singapore that ideally he would know about his future sooner, but that he would focus on getting good results to convince the team he should retain his seat.

"Like anybody you would prefer that," di Resta said. "You'd ideally like somebody to tell you what is going to happen tomorrow, but this is the way it is. You have to be patient. All I can do is concentrate on my driving, and leave other people to take care of my best interests.

"The decision lies with the team. I've just got to concentrate on my own performance, and then go with the attitude of what will be will be. I'm enjoying my experiences here, they're a great team, I've been part of them now for almost two years. They've a lot of ambitions, and naturally I'd like to be part of that in the future."

Looking at the rest of the season, di Resta said the target was to secure sixth position in the constructor's championship, as Force India currently heads Sauber by just one point and Toro Rosso by seven.

"There's no reason why we can't consolidate sixth. We were the chasing team, but we've caught up and overtook (Sauber). We've shown some good performance, although Sauber were strong in Monza until their cars both stopped. Hopefully these next few tracks will suit us a little better, but we know it's going to be a fight all the way. We fought all the way for it last year and missed out by a point, so it would be rather harsh if that happened again."
