Force India deputy team principal Robert Fernley says the team will be looking to score points in its home race at the inaugural Indian Grand Prix.

After a strong double points finish in Singapore Force India set its sights on catching Renault for fifth place in the constructors' championship. The last two races have been closer, however, with Sauber strong in Japan and Toro Rosso in Korea, meaning that attentions have returned to the battle for sixth. With the Indian fans expectant of a good result for the team at the Buddh International Circuit, Fernley said he expected Force India to be scoring points because it is the most "consistent" of the midfield teams.

"We need to try and get ourselves into the points and have a good, solid race," Fernley said. "Hopefully the type of track that India is fits in well with our downforce levels. We expect Abu Dhabi to be good as well.

"It's not going to be hugely different from Korea, where we qualified well, and we raced well, and it was just frustrating not to be able to match certain other cars. But I think we are more consistent than the other teams that we're racing so hopefully we can keep picking up the points."

Adrian Sutil admitted that the race week would be noticeably busier for the drivers, but that he expected it to be "special".

"We are all looking forward to it; it's a special event. It's the home Grand Prix of the team, and the first ever Indian GP. It's going to be special, and very busy, with a lot of work, a lot of PR stuff, so I'll be there the whole week. Our focus is the same; we're going to try our best as we always do, and see what comes out.

"I think we're going to have a lot of fans. I hope it's the only race where we have more than Ferrari! Let's see what comes out. I hope the track will be crowded and a lot of people come."
