Sebastian Vettel has admitted he has a bit of work to do after Friday practice at the German Grand Prix and is expecting a strong performance from rivals Ferrari.

Vettel finished both Friday sessions in third place behind Fernando Alonso and his Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber. Radio communications from the pit wall suggested Vettel was struggling to match his rivals in the high-speed sector two and after the session he admitted there was more time to be found from his car.

"It was good fun, the circuit was quite slippery with the low temperatures, but we did a lot of laps and the car seems okay, although I'm not 100% happy yet," he said. "We'll see what happens tomorrow, but at this stage we've got a bit of work to do. Ferrari looks very competitive, McLaren is a bit harder to judge, but we will see."

He is also preparing himself for the possibility of a wet qualifying session.

"We don't know the conditions for tomorrow, rain is forecast, but it depends when and if it will come."
