Jules Bianchi will return to action for the 8th round of the GP2 Series at Spa Francorchamps this weekend after receiving the green light from the FIA doctors on Thursday.
Bianchi, who drives for ART, was thought to be out for longer after injuring his spine in a collision with Ho-Pin Tung in Hungary. But thanks to successful invasive spine surgery performed at the AEK Hospital in Budapest, the Frenchman has been declared fit to race.
Tung, however, is still not fit enough to participate. Ex-Renault driver Romain Grosjean will replace him at the DAMS GP2 team.
