Paul di Resta says he is targeting 'good point' in tomorrow's British Grand Prix after qualifying in a career-best sixth position.

Di Resta had been on the pace all weekend and managed to pull out a strong lap to get through in to the final qualifying session. With track conditions ever-changing and further rain expected late on di Resta posted another quick time just before the rain came mid-way through Q3 to seal sixth alongside Jenson Button.

With this weekend marking di Resta's first time racing on the full Silverstone circuit, he said he was pleased with how competitive the car had been and praised Force India for maximising its potential.

"Coming here to the British Grand Prix having never done a race on the grand prix track; it's always going to be difficult," Di Resta said. "But I've grown in confidence in the car over this limited dry running we've had and I think that was the progress. Any time we have been on the track this weekend, dry or wet, we've been competitive. I think worst case scenario there we would have been eighth. We did a very good lap, it's been close but you've got to give a lot of credit to the team because we came here with small upgrades and we've got that car working well."

"Our target coming here was to get in to Q3, we did that, and we went out there in Q3 and did a very good lap. That was the difference... We took the chance to run the tyres, luckily enough it's paid off - I did a very good lap - and tomorrow I think a positive step would be some good points ahead of us."
