Rosberg rules out Mercedes victory in Hungary
- Hungarian Grand Prix
Nico Rosberg has ruled himself out of fighting for pole position and victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend.
Mercedes has secured pole position at five of the last six races and won two of them, but during practice at the Hungaroring was struggling for pace. Rosberg said he thinks Mercedes' tyre issues will resurface this weekend and put his team on the back foot.
"It's still going to be those teams that are quick in the heat that are going to be quick again this weekend I think," he said. "The main challengers are surely Red Bull, they look very, very good. It's them that are going to be going for pole, I don't think we have the speed this weekend."
Asked if he could challenge for victory after securing a win at the tight and twisty Monaco - a track often compared to the Hungaroring but with added barriers - Rosberg said: "At the moment it's not looking like it. Red Bull look very quick and some other teams are going to be quicker than us in the hot conditions in the race. We need to make the most of it and get a lot of points."
