'It's all to play for' - Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton believes his victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix has proven that it is "still all to play for" in the drivers' championship.

Hamilton secured his second victory of the season at the Hungaroring to close the gap to Fernando Alonso to 47 points. With the updated McLaren proving capable of challenging for victory in the last two races, and having taken 15 points off Alonso this weekend, Hamilton said the result was proof that the championship was still a realistic target.

"We've still got a good gap; Fernando and the Lotuses are really quick, the Red Bulls are still quick, we've got to keep working," Hamilton said. "We've got to now take a step back and know that we've got to do some work; we've still got to improve but we've proved this weekend that it's still all to play for."

Hamilton also said he felt he displayed his focus having withstood the attentions of Kimi Raikkonen for the last 17 laps of the race.

"I had Kimi behind who's a world champion and I'm a world champion. You've just got to remain 100% focused and I have been all year, so I was able to really put it out there and prove it today."

When asked again about his future with McLaren, Hamilton insisted he's not in a hurry to finalise his plans during the mid-season break but that he hoped the team was boosted by the result.

"We've got this summer break, we'll see what happens. But again, we're in no rush, we've got to just focus; the most important thing is this win. The guys wearing the [victory] tops, back at the factory, this is a boost for them to know that they're on the right path. But I hope this spurs them on knowing that we can challenge for the win this year and both us drivers are on it. So let's all remain on it."
