Mark Webber gave the Buddh International Circuit his seal of approval after first practice for the Indian Grand Prix.

A dusty circuit greeted all of the drivers on Friday morning as they got their first running on the track, but it was a busy two sessions as everyone tried to learn the track and find the ideal setup. Webber said that with a lot of tracks featuring a number of low speed turns it was good to "have some real Formula One corners".

"It's good; better than the last few we've done," Webber said. "We have some real Formula One corners, some quick left-rights and the car is in fourth/fifth gear, so that's nice, instead of in second gear everywhere so it's a good track.

"As usual, still some of the low speed stuff is quite challenging even though it's slow. You always think that the faster corners are more challenging but turn three, for example, is quite tricky. Also turn four is not straightforward. So they're probably the most challenging and frustrating corners to get right - a lot of lap time in there - but the quick stuff is always rewarding, it's always enjoyable to drive that."

Despite the praise, Webber said that he doesn't expect the wide track in turns three and four to play much of a role in aiding overtaking.

"Once the race settles down I don't know how much it will help. Obviously the track is very greasy off-line so most people will run on the normal line when the race is unfolding. The first lap I expect an interesting first few sectors of the grand prix but as the race unfolds generally not. I did a bit of practice behind Lewis in that session then and basically we were staying on the same line. You can make it another 10 or 15 metres wider but you can't really use it."

Specifically talking about his work in the car, Webber said he needed to make some changes in the final practice session on Saturday, having followed his third place in FP1 with fifth in the afternoon.

"This morning was good. This afternoon it was a different girl, she wasn't talking to me that well, so we'll get it back tomorrow."
