Raikkonen admits set-up error

Kimi Raikkonen admitted that he made the wrong decision with his set-up after FP3 and should have qualified higher up for the Indian Grand Prix.

Raikkonen starts seventh on the grid having ended qualifying a second slower than pole-sitter Sebastian Vettel. However, Raikkonen was fifth in the final practice session - 0.4s off Vettel - and he admitted that a change he decided to make on the car ahead of qualifying had backfired.

"I thought that we should have probably been further forward after this morning and yesterday," Raikkonen said. "But I made the decision to change the car a bit that was the completely wrong decision so it just took all the grip away from the car and I'm surprised that we finished seventh. It's a decision that I shouldn't have made but we tried and it was the wrong way."

Raikkonen even went as far to say that he should have qualified in the top four with the pace his car had shown in FP3.

"We often change a little bit but there's certain things that we tried to do but it just made a massive difference and took the grip out so we were a bit slower than we hoped for. I don't think it's going to be suddenly turn out to be the same like it was this morning tomorrow, but we'll try. That's why I'm very disappointed that I made the decision because we had a very good car this morning and I really think we should have been on the second row."
