Jules Bianchi says there will be more to come from him once he settles fully in to the Marussia team.

With Luiz Razia's funding falling through, Bianchi was only named at Marussia halfway through the final pre-season test in Barcelona. In Australia he comfortably beat team-mate Max Chilton and set the 11th fastest lap of the race - just 0.05s slower than Sebastian Vettel - and while he believes he has had a good start to his career he is sure he will improve quickly.

"Well obviously it would have been better for me to have more tests, but anyway I think my race was good," Bianchi says. "There is much more to come from my side, especially to set the car up well because I don't know the car well - I only did one and a half days before the race - so I think it's something I need to get used to and for sure we will have more performance after that.

"I think I'm already at a good level. I trained a lot last year with Force India and the year before with Ferrari so now I feel ready to race in Formula One. That's why I'm here; I still need to improve but I'm really happy with that."

Bianchi added that he is confident Marussia can make strides towards the midfield this season after being impressed by the car so far.

"I was really surprised when I drove it for the first time. My expectation was a lot lower than that; I was really happy when I drove it so I think we can do some good results. We know what we have to improve again so we are just trying to do that and trying to improve the car, trying to improve myself as well because I'm new in the team, new in Formula One and I want to show people what I'm able to do so I will try to do my best for all the races now."
