Hamilton hits back at Vettel 'buses' jibe
Lewis Hamilton has hit back at Sebastian Vettel for his comments made after the Monaco Grand Prix.
In the post-race press conference, Vettel said "you expect two silver arrows in front of you and there were two buses today going for a cruise!" However, Hamilton responded that Mercedes was controlling its pace as part of its learning process and countered that Vettel has "got it easy" driving for Red Bull.
"He has had the fastest car for the last four years, so it's easy for him to say that," Hamilton is quoted by Sporting Life. "He's got it easy. We are making our way up, we are learning, growing, improving with a car that has great potential, so I don't agree with him."
Hamilton also said he was not getting involved with the testing row as he needed to focus on improving his own performance.
"We were required to do some work, we did some work, it was good fun. Right now I'm not concerned about it, that's for the team to worry about. I just have to focus on myself and try and get my act together."
