Lewis Hamilton doesn't believe the forecast wet weather will hurt Sebastian Vettel's chances of victory in the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The weekend forecast is for heavy rain on Friday which will continue in to the rest of the weekend. Although the rain could stop in time for the race itself, it would still prevent the teams from preparing for a dry race, but Hamilton said his chances of beating Vettel will not be helped by wet conditions.

"If he doesn't finish, that's the best chance!" Hamilton said. "Even if it rains he still has more downforce, the car works much better. It's going to be better in whatever weather, even if it snows! So there's not really a huge amount of hope in that sense."

Ahead of the final race of the year, Hamilton said he still has a number of issues to sort with his car's set-up and would be spending the winter analysing what team-mate Nico Rosberg does differently to him.

"I've generally this year struggled with the set-up, so dialling the set-up in is really not easy with this car for some reason. Sometimes you get it right. Nico's been here a long time, so he's worked with the engineers, he's more comfortable with all the controls that they have and all the settings he has. It's a different configuration on his steering wheel compared to me and there;s things that he uses that I don't.

"So over the winter it is about exploring some of those things and just being open-minded. When I came here I tried to put things where I had them previously so I could just hit the ground running, but with a different car you need to adjust it more in a different direction. So that's what we've been working on and I'm hoping next year we have less issues setting the car up."
