Hamilton: Radio ban like karting days

Lewis Hamilton is relishing the opportunity to draw on his karting experience following the FIA's recent clampdown on radio communications between driver and pit wall.
The new radio regulations have dominated the build-up to Singapore, with much interest surrounding how they will affect the championship fight between Mercedes duo Nico Rosberg and Hamilton. While Hamilton is unsure whether the rule change will benefit him specifically compared to other drivers he is excited by the regulation change.
"I have absolutely no idea if it's going to be better for me or worse for me," Hamilton said of the radio ban. "After the race I'll know if the other car did better than me, and I will work on it and try to improve. The ultimate hope is that you handle it you best and get the most out of it and that will be the challenge over the weekend.
"I quite like it, if feels like I'm going back to karting days which I like. The only way you can find what the guy behind or in front is doing is by watching him, rather than anyone else telling you. In terms of sharing the settings and individual has on their steering, or braking, or cornering, all those kind of things, I'm quite happy those things have disappeared. I'm looking forward to it."
Hamilton does think drivers will be worked harder during a race.
"It's almost like putting more balls in the air for us to catch, and we're already catching quite a lot. When I was told on Monday this is what we have to do I thought, 'cool, how can we utilise this?' All the experience we have over the years, all the things you have to do on the formation lap to get right so you have a good start - you've got the brake balance set right, the launch map correct.
"Remembering all those things without being told is going to be a challenge, plus all the things that happen during the race. But I'm excited to see how we tackle it."
