Joe Calzaghe gives warning to Ricky Hatton

Joe Calzaghe has said that he would rather have seen Ricky Hatton retire than fight again. Hatton announced this week that he will compete in at least one more fight before hanging up his gloves.
"I would have liked to see Ricky retire. He's been in some true wars over the years, everyone knows about his lifestyle, and the last time he fought he was knocked out for three minutes. That takes a toll on anyone and I think maybe the time has come to call it a day," Calzaghe wrote in his column in the South Wales Argus.
Calzaghe retired in February 2009 with an undefeated record having fought for the final time in July of the previous year. "I do agree with Ricky that only a fighter knows when it is time to go - something I knew after the Roy Jones fight," he said.
The Welshman added that he thought rumoured opponent Juan Manuel Marquez would be a wise choice of opponent for the Hitman. He said: "If Ricky is lining up someone like Marquez, he could be fine. Marquez is a lightweight and though he's a great fighter, he's not really a big puncher.
"But good luck to Ricky, he's a lovely guy and I hope his comeback works out for him."
