I will 'definitely' fight Marquez - Kevin Mitchell
Kevin Mitchell is "100 per cent" certain that he will fight Juan Manuel Marquez if he claims the WBO interim lightweight title against Michael Katsidis on May 15.
Marquez is the full WBO champion, but there have been suggestions that he may be set to vacate the title in order to step up a weight division - with Ricky Hatton a possible opponent at light-welterweight.
However, Mitchell has no doubt that he will be taking on the dangerous Mexican - a three-weight world champion - in the near future.
"I'll definitely fight Marquez, 100 per cent, and it would have to be in the not-too-distant future. He's the biggest dangerman out there," Mitchell said.
"I'm 25 years old now so I want to go looking for the big names - I don't care who I fight. As you get older the fear tends to leave you."
On the eve of his fight with Katsidis, Mitchell had some ominous words for his Australian opponent as he outlined his determination to succeed. "Don't tell me about hunger," he said. "I'm hungrier than [anyone]. They don't have a clue about hunger. I'm not hungry, I'm starving."
