Goddard facing tough decision after medley win

Double Commonwealth champion James Goddard showed no signs of fatigue as he won two events in quick succession at the British Swimming Championships.
Goddard won the 200 metre individual medley on Wednesday before returning to the pool an hour later for the 200m backstroke semi-finals, where he qualified fastest for Thursday's final.
The programme in Manchester replicates the schedule set for the World Championships in Shanghai this summer, and Goddard admits he is faced with a tough decision; whether to concentrate on one event or go for both.
"It's really hard, really difficult," Goddard said. "But it's something I've got to do: I love both events. I don't really want to miss out on one.
"Backstroke is my main stroke but I really love the medley. I think I can win a medal in both so it's going to be a really difficult decision whether to do both or do one but right now I am just focusing on qualifying and after that I'll see what happens."
Ellen Gandy added the 200m butterfly to her 100m title, leading from the outset to touch home in 2:06.13 ahead of Wales' Jemma Lowe, while Adam Brown defended his 100m freestyle title in 49.41, while Georgia Davies claimed the 50m backstroke crown.
