Sale Sharks have confirmed the signing of Kris Chesney from Toulon on a two-year contract.

The 37-year-old former Saracens forward, who can play at lock or anywhere in the back row, will return to England at the end of the season and Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond is looking forward to being reunited with a player he knows well.

"I had the pleasure of working with Kris when I was in charge at Saracens," he said. "He has a great work ethic, is good in the lineout and is a very tough uncompromising player. He has been playing well for Toulon since his move to France last year. This is another piece of my jigsaw completed with lots more signings to come."
